I got my copy of the kit today. I have been playing Cyberpunk since the first boxed set, and remember how impressed I was with it (even if it was my first game, ever). The EMK is designed for both people who know noting about the game beyond CP2077, and those who know CP Red. If you're a new person to TTRPG, this is a good place to start if you wanted to play in a cyberpunk universe. I could see a GM being able to run a session with just the box set. There's enough here to get you going, without so much to overload new players. For a more experienced player/GM, it's a step into the 2077 universe. The quality of the production is top-level. The color scheme and typography tie into the themes of CP2077 and Edgerunners. The Edgerunner's Handbook, Rule Book, and the mission book have glossy covers and are staple bound. The artwork is mostly taken from CP2077 and the anime, and it would have been nice to have seen some new artwork exclusive for the set. The books have reference sheets on the back, so a GM can refer to them quickly. The character sheets are four page, with all the data you need to play. The Lifepath is left blank, so if you want to go through that system you have the option. There's a set of maps, including one of Night City itself, plus a sheet of cardboard tokens. Also included are stands for the PC tokens, and a small dice set. If I'm disappointed, it's that there's no link to download PDF's of the books and material, or an offer for a discounted download. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to diving into this over the next few days

Maybe they do a prequel game set in 2075 where you end up casually meeting David and the gang through some quests and V. And no i don't mean meet them as a grp cause David aint with them yet. I mean meet them in passing.

I truely believe the reason David went Cyberpsycho was because his humanity took a nosedive, not necessarily do all the chrome. First he lost his mother and you can see him laugh randomly for no reason, until he met Lucy and then the gang. After that he attached himself to Maine and Lucy. Maine became a replacment parent for his mother. That made his humanity go up again, then Maine dies which lowers his humanity. So now all he has left is Lucy, which stays distant and takes a hiatus from the gang because she is trying to protect him(because she loves him). Unfortunately he doesn't know this so he gets depressed and his humanity lowers even more, because he thinks she might be falling out of love with him or thinking of leaving him. So now his humanity gets so low he don't have enough humanity to support the chome he has. What convinces me this might be true, is that in the end scene when Lucy kisses him he pops back like he never had cyberpsychosis.

If you side with Songbird and considering that Mr. Blue Eye is the one that got his ride to the moon base to be "cured" in the end you are only deciding who get to use Songbirds capability to get behind blackwall, NUSA or Mr. Blue Eye Only logical thing to do is mercy kill So Mi so she wouldn't be used as weapon/tool. And i'm 100% sure that Neural Matrix has so called "Lillith AI" inside that can be used to weponize AI in upcoming Corporate war and it's the reason why So Mi goes to Cynosure in the betrayal ending cos she is possessed with rogue AI/part of Lillith And what ppl think is "right thing to do" and save So Mi will be the worst option for the future that we will explore once Orion release Just my 2cents

My idea for a sequel is night city maybe 10-20 years in the future, a restart of V's story with another character. The person in your head is V. YOUR V from your last playthrough in the first cyberpunk

I like to think that Johnny’s appearance in 2077 is what he was wearing during the Night City Holocaust, and all the memories we play through and see his reflection is just what V thinks he looks like.

I read this book right after its release. I think it's great, as a fan of the game and the Edgerunners series, I'm delighted with the book.

i think the best way v could return as a character would be through the tower ending as a fixer npc in the next game like the rogue of that game.

While I'd like this theory to be true, I think the much more likely option is that the ending is just plain poorly written. Also, the whole "no combat implants" discussion is very stupid considering you can kill Adam Smasher without ever getting anything besides the Kiroshi eyes forced onto you in the prologue. (yes, you are also forced to get hand implants, but you can just take these off later by pressing middle mouse on them)

What I don't udnerstand about the Old Net in Cyberpunk lore - it's not some "magic" cyberspace that exists outside the realm of humans. It's computers. Servers. Data-centers. If they are physically isolated, disabled or destroyed, Old Net is no more. Rogue AI is no more. "Invaluable data" seems like a plot device. With the computing power and ever-growing capabilities of the megacorps, most of this data could have been replicated ten times over...

Cyberpunk 2077 lore is amazing the stories told w/in stories is simply captivating reminds me of old WH40k just a bit. In modern times an Actual Story is rare especially these stories that are told in these mediums. They truly touch your soul, and makes you think about hard truths, you cry / scream or even more importantly just like a BD lets you escape from your reality even if its just for a wee bit. I play CP 2077 almost weekly, the same w/ RDR2 which I play monthly.

The doctors would have been there when V was woken up, if it was on the up and up. V is being played in that scenario.

Every character we meet in the Phantom Liberty DLC that has been involved with the NUSA (Reed/Alex/Songbird) has been screwed over in one way or another. It is therefore logical to suggest that V would be screwed over by the NUSA in some way too. Johnny Silverhaand constantly warns against trusting corporations or the promises of government, as he was previously a soldier and felt forgotten and taken advantage of. This is why he discourages V from taking the pledge of allegiance to the NUSA. Reed's description of the problem is different to Vik Vectors, so I do find it plausible that Reed is lying to V. The V we wake up as might even be a clone, a version of V intended to live as a harless civilian, while the original is a midless soldier working for the NUSA as a puppet, chromed out more than Songbird and Adam Smasher combined.

Idk bout you but my V is DEFINITELY a cyberpsycho. Can't count the number of times I'll be hacking random cars with Floor It just to see what happens.

Well, we got demon-AIs. It wouldn't be outlandish to think there are benevolent AIs as well, "angels". I like the idea of a metaphysical and/or ethereal being, but it could also very well be an uber talented netrunner. Netrunners are absolutely TERRIFYING. Who really knows the full extent of what they can do, ya know? Mix in demons, and maybe "angels", and their potential is practically unthinkable.

In my opinion, Phantom Liberty's storyline is in fact So Mi's story, no matter what path V chooses. With this perspective in mind, the best outcomes for So Mi are to either send her to the Moon - she lives (without making any assumptions about what might awaits her there for now), or doing her a favor of killing her in Somewhat Damaged - at this point of the story, death is the only way to freedom for her. But we have to keep in mind that V's betrayal in Firestarter was the final push she unleashed those rouge AIs, the fatal blow that really broke her trust in us - and essentially every human being... She had no reason anymore to fight for herself. What is going on afterwards is, in fact, her emotional breakdown and disappointment in V, and it just shows how important the feeling that she could trust somebody - the feeling that she completely lost when working for NUSA - was for her. Even despite that, she still protected V in Cynosure facility and during the scene in her unit in Brooklyn (for me, the strongest moments in the entire game), she basically forgave V for stripping her of her last chance to freedom! Moreover, during that same scene, she was about to make a confession about the neural matrix but with the Blackwall's interferrence she was unable to spell it out. The fact that she didn't tell V the complete truth about the neural matrix was apparently eating her the whole time. In the Killing Moon, So Mi made that confession in the train, practically putting herself at V's mercy, just moments before she should board the shuttle... All this shows what a strong and remarkable personality So Mi was and that she did care a lot about V! As for Reed's story, he had to loose two of his closest operatives (given that we kill So Mi in Somewhat Damaged) to come to the realization about the NUSA, Myers, and especially himself (in all other endings he remains lost). I mean, that's a way too big price to pay for this... The fatal problem of Reed is not his loyalty to the NUSA - loyalty is not a bad trait of itself - but the fact that 1) he always lied to himself, he was a coward to admit the truth (unlike So Mi), and 2) that he thought the best for others is what he himself considers is the best. Think what you want but Reed is also to blame for So Mi's fate in here... So, after all that has been said above, and after playing all four main endings, I believe So Mi absolutely deserves the second chance, thus sending her to the Moon is the most satisfying and a canon ending for me. Killing So Mi - which really devastated me and I felt so much anger at Myers, Reed (and game developers as well :D) - is the only logical thing V should do if they decide to side with Reed. One last thing, I believe the fact V returns to the square one after each of these two endings is not random. PS: Excellent content on this channel!

Any mass industrial use of human meat for human consumption would cause an epidemic of prion disease that would be impossible to hide for long. Meaning BioTechnica would essentially destroy their own market by poisoning their customers en masse. This isn't something that would catch then unaware - they absolutely know about self-folding proteins and the risk potential involved. Makes more sense to use other sources for the scop, and then clone different animals to be used for high-class consumers, have a multi-tiered market.
